The name of our venue is the Cathedral Chapel.
Isn' it pretty?!
It is a big tall chapel covered in vines!
Please follow the map below (and screenshot it ahead of time) to find your way to the chapel from the front gate. If you get lost, please stop at a booth and ask someone. Everyone who works here is incredibly nice and should be able to point you in the right direction. Remember, you should be here by 12:30. The ceremony starts at 1 and we will start without you if you're late.
The reception will be held right across the way at the Lady Rose Pavilion, and we'll be walking over together.
(If it rains, we will be moving to the Basilica-- venue attendants will guide everyone so you don't get lost. But this is a rain or shine event, so grab an umbrella and weather the day with us!)
Below is a link to the renaissance festival website.
BE SURE TO READ IT BEFORE ATTENDING. It has crucial information about where to park and other fun things to see and do once you're here!
Yes, you're coming to our wedding, but you are at the renaissance festival and should plan to enjoy it before and after our ceremony! Come early, explore, celebrate with us from 1-4pm and then continue on your journey.
The Renaissance Festival is a themed event! Our weekend is "heroes and villians" themed, and dressing the part is deeply encouraged!
You may dress in what makes you comfortable, or maybe you're more into being a pirate, milk maid, old english prince/princess, fairy, or whatever suits your fancy (a barbarian may just not be very wedding-y). The more "normal" you dress, the more out of place you will feel once you're there. Lean into it. Get weird with us!
I've attached some images of what you can expect to see while you're here! Feel free to dress it up a little (we are getting married after all), but no need for any modern fancy dress.
Basically, I have two boundaries:
No loin cloths/ majority nudity fits
No suits/ formal dress/out of era costumes (like bananas, Pokémon, or Elvis)
Yes
Yes
Jeans are fine
Armour? Sure.
Nudity? No.
Wear comfortable shoes. You will be walking a TON (if you're like me and like to frolic). Last year we hit 12,000 steps before noon.
Put bike shorts on under your skirts. Just do it.
Bring layers. It's November in Texas so it could be chilly, but the weather changes here every 5 minutes so best to not commit to sleeves.
Make sure that what you're wearing has pockets. You are allowed to bring in bags (they'll very loosely check them), but pockets for phones and keys are always handy.
You may bring an empty water bottle! There are water stations throughout the park for free refills.
I LOVE camping at ren fest. No, you don't have to. But it's incredibly fun and will allow you to stay longer and not have to budget your time and merry-drinking with worrying about your travels home. The times I have camped have always made the day more enjoyable.
There are several sections to camp in-- both quiet and WILD. If super weird is not your thing, stay in the quiet area. I usually stay in the middle grounds where I can venture into the fun night time festivities and then sleep in a more remote area.
If you want to camp:
Follow the link below and book a camping ticket. Yes, this is separate from the festival ticket. It's about $20 I believe.
Bring your own tent and supplies: tent, cot, lawn chair, etc.
I will be reaching out to campers to see if we can set up an area together! Connor and I will be setting up our area on Friday and will send you the location we choose!
There are port-a-potties (that are surprisingly clean) on each row, so that shouldn't be a worry. There are also on-site showers you can access with a token.
Not a fan of camping? That's okay! There are hotels roughly 30 minutes away if you're boring and enjoy things like mattresses and running water.
We are excited to celebrate our special day with you at our intimate wedding venue. Due to limited space, we cannot accommodate plus ones for the ceremony and reception. Your invitation includes the names of those specifically invited, and the number of wristbands provided will reflect this.
We chose a venue with a small guest list allowance to create a cozy and personal atmosphere for our ceremony and reception. However, after the reception, you are welcome to have your plus one join you at the Ren Faire, starting around 3 PM.
No: Plus ones cannot attend the ceremony or reception.
Yes: They can purchase a ticket and be with you before and after the ceremony (it will be ending at 3pm).
Thank you for understanding, and we look forward to celebrating with you!
Yes! Kiddos are absolutely welcome and anyone 4 and under is FREE!
Admittedly, Ren Faire is more fun childless-- especially if it's your first time. BUT they are absolutely allowed. If your kiddo is older than 4, please message me and include it on the digital RSVP.

TURKEY LEGS (you're welcome)

Roasted Corn on the Cob
German Fried Potatoes
Sautéed Mushrooms

Yes! Vendors accept both cash and card. I have never run into a "cash only" scenario here.
Great question.
I'd love to make a plan, but let's leave it open. Coordinating 50+ people at a giant festival with little cell service sounds like my personal hell. I may perch for awhile, get some snackies, roam around, watch some shows, and I highly recommend you do the same.
We will have walkie talkies to coordinate on the day of.
Fireworks are in the arena at 8pm, and we will absolutely be there to meet up with anyone who is still there!
